Meet Aislinn McKenna
Based in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, Aislinn McKenna is a personal trainer and fitness instructor. The proud owner of 2 show jumpers, Aislinn has ridden all her life and currently competes successfully as an Amateur with the SJI. She is also heads up a Business Intelligence department for a software company in her spare time, so knows how juggle the demands of work and horse life, whilst getting results with limited time resources!
Aislinn first became interested in personal training and fitness when recovering from a shoulder injury sustained in a fall. It was from there that she realised that being ‘riding fit’ wasn’t necessarily enough to help prevent further injury nor to allow her ride to the best of her ability. This eventually led her to a course with the National Training Centre where she achieved EQF level 4 certification. Such developed Aislinn’s belief in the benefits of strength training that she went on to complete further specialist courses in Suspension Training and Kettlebells. She is not a woman to be trifled with!
Aislinn’s goal is to help riders identify their fitness needs and from there to build personalised training programs around these needs, any limitations and the rider’s own personal ambitions, with the ultimate goal being to help them to ride to the best of their ability. If you would like to contact Aislinn for training please contact her via email
