This June Bank Holiday Weekend bring the Family to meet Ireland’s Olympic hopefuls and join in all the Fun of the Fair
Sarah McGovern Vaughan and her son Jude Vaughan (4) and Kacey Lou Carberry (6) today launched the Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair in association with Horse Sport Ireland. Taking place from the 1st – 5th June in Ratoath, Co. Meath visitors to the event will have the opportunity to watch the world’s leading Eventers as they compete across three equestrian disciplines, dressage, cross country and show jumping and prepare for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Combining world class sport with a quintessential country fair this is acknowledged as one of the country side events of the summer. Supported by Failte Ireland, the charming country fair is tailored especially for families with free admission for under 12’s. The Kids Zone is packed with fun. The highlight is the Tractor Ted Experience which along with the free Tayto Toddler Zone, Petting Farm, Traditional Carnival Rides and Activity Area for older kids is sure to capture the imagination.
There is loads of grown up fun to be had too. The shopping village is a treasure trove of country chic brands, there is an artisan and craft market and a range of delicious local food producers on hand to tempt your palate. Why not bring your own picnic park by the Mitsubishi Picnic Square and watch the thrills and spills of the famous water fence or relax in the pop up restaurant in the beautiful surrounds of Tattersalls Country House. Your four legged friends are also more than welcome and will love the novelty dog shows.
According to Roger Casey, Managing Director of Tattersalls Ireland “The 2016 Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair really is an experience not to be missed. As a country we are known to be passionate about sport and we encourage everyone to get behind the Irish riders as they compete for a place on the Irish Olympic team and against the best riders in the World. Tatts 2016 will see competitors from all over the world both professional and amateur compete over 5 days. Our entries this year include UK’s Zara Philips, William Fox-Pitt and Bella Lloyd Webber along with competitors from New Zealand, Australia, USA, Sweden, Finland and Irish Olympic Squad members such as Aoife Clark, Michael Ryan, Clare Abbott, Mark Kyle, Jonty Evans and Cathal Daniels. This unique sporting spectacle combined with a wonderful family orientated Country Fair always makes for a hugely entertaining day out.”
