With a great mix of sunshine and showers but thankfully for competitors mostly sunshine Ravensdale Lodge hosted their 2 Day May Summer Show over the weekend.

On Saturday the 1m class was won by local rider Lynn Kelly aboard her own Donaghmore Dolly, who was delighted to get her first double win with the mare on the day as she slotted into first place again with the 1.10m class. Feaha Moore, from a bit further afield, proved the fastest clear round in the 1.20m class riding J.Cooke & C.Hynes’ Carraigh Samhraidh , while the two remaining classes of the day were left to Declan McEvoy from Co. Meath. He managed the course clear in the fastest time for the 1.20m class with his own Kilmullen Coole Concorde, took Moon Zappa clear in great time for the 1.35m Mini GP kindly sponsored by Linen Green Designer Village.
Sunday’s competition had four classes in all, starting with the 1m class and Jim Maneely in the red taking first place with his mount Leo, and Paul Carroll from Dublin giving his best to claim first with Carroll Produce’s Castleroche La Roche. Robert Murdy did well to earn first place in the 1.20m class with his own Urbi Et Orbi, while the penultimate class of the day, the 1.35m Leinster Summer Tour kindly sponsored by BeepBeep.ie, went to Declan McEvoy on BLM Cosmopolitan Dandy, and on being one of the few to make it through to the jump off, finished the competition continuing his previous day’s form with a great time of 45.31.
