Top price of €37,000 at the Goresbridge Tattersalls Ireland Select Event Horse Sale

Goresbridge Tattersalls Ireland Select Event Horse Sale took place on Thursday evening, 30 May at Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair. The sale attracted a huge crowd who witnessed 11 potential young event horses carefully selected by Karen Dixon and Sally Parkyn.

Top lot of the evening was Lot 4, Dobby, consigned by Michael Heery (pictured above). The four-year-old gelding by Diacontinus (HAAN) out of Starlight B (HAAN), a sister to numerous graded showjumpers fetched €37,000 and was sold to DJ O’Sullivan.

Oliver Townend, who is suffering a spell on the side-lines, was active on the evening purchasing two lots. Lot 6, a four-year-old unnamed gelding by Querlybet Hero (SBS) out of Ars Vivendi Lady (ISH) is a half-brother to Makin A Storm who was 4th in the 2018 Burghley Young Event Horse Final and Harlequin Vivendi. Consigned by Joanne Curtin and DJ O’Sullivan, he was secured by Townend for €29,000.

The sale concluded with an aggregate of €126,000 and an average of €21,000.
