Australia’s Samantha Birch currently in the lead at the Tattersalls International Horse Trials

Samantha Birch and Hunter Valley II take the lead at the Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair in association with Horse Sport Ireland

The sun shone on County Meath as Australia’s Samantha Birch produced a spectacular dressage test with her horse Hunter Valley II to take the lead in The Irish Field CCI3* class on a score of 43.90. Best of the Irish was Padraig McCarthy, currently lying in second place with Mr Chunky, just 0.8 points adrift of the leader on 44.70 followed by Great Britain’s Oliver Townend riding Dunbeau and finishing on a dressage score of 45.40.

Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair continues tomorrow, Friday June 3 through to Sunday 5 June with plenty of action for all the family over the weekend. Dressage and cross-country takes place tomorrow and cross-country and showjumping action over Saturday and Sunday.
