Ireland claim top three places in the George Mernagh Memorial CIC3* at Tattersalls International Horse Trials
Ireland’s Padraig McCarthy riding Simon Porloe win the George Mernagh Memorial CIC3* at Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair in association with Horse Sport Ireland
It was a nail-biting finish in the George Mernagh Memorial CIC3*; Ireland’s Austin O’Connor and Kilpatrick Knight led going into the cross-country phase. Although producing a clear round of jumping over designer Ian Stark’s challenging course, the lead changed hands into fellow Irish-man Padraig McCarthy riding his own Simon Porloe who produced a faster round and took the title on a score of 49.60 leaving O’Connor in second place on a score of 51.90.
In third place was another Irish-man, Jonty Evans who finished on a score of 54.90 riding Cooley Rorkes Drift.
